Biography

I started Path to Life just one year after being diagnosed with breast cancer and an ulcer. I did so for two reasons. First, my diagnosis was a blessing in disguise because it was the beginning of my own journey on the path to life. Secondly, after sitting in the waiting room of a cancer hospital, I understood the emotions I saw on people’s faces all too well and knew I had to do something to help people.

Prior to that I was a woman on a mission – I was a workaholic determined to do anything except take care of myself.  Getting ill afforded me the time to take stock of my life and spend time getting in touch with my inner self. I wanted to venture out into the unknown and learn how to better care for myself and to help others to do the same for themselves.

My first discovery was Reiki. It did for me what medication could not. My mind had searched and found a healthy path and the body became free and healthy on its own.  I waited to see how long this freedom from pain would last, much to my amazement the pain never returned.

I had agreed to undergo radiation therapy but refused chemotherapy, although I felt I had no choices when I was told I would have to continue my therapy for another 5 years by taking Tamoxifen. Just days after I started taking the drug I couldn’t sleep at nights because of severe pains in my legs. For the next 3 months, my side effects consisted of nausea, weight gain and unbearable mood swings.

I knew I couldn’t go on like that but more importantly there was a new unknown force driving me in a new direction. I didn’t understand it yet I knew that I trusted it completely.

While looking for an alternative to the drugs that did not agree with me, I opened the phone book one day and found the number that would lead me to Homeopathy. I went as a patient never thinking for a moment that I would be so drawn to this art and science. At the beginning of my third year of school, I leaned that my maternal Grandfather had gone to Europe to study natural medicine.

A good friend of mine used to say “life is a journey, it’s the journey that’s important, not the destination”.

Now I understand because my journey has led me on this path. I am now a Reiki Master and I served for two years on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Reiki Association.

In addition, I am a Homeopathic Doctor, graduating from the Ontario College of Homeopathic Medicine and have studied under some of the most well known international homeopaths including Jeremy Sherr, Rajan Sankaran, Jan Scholten, Alize Timmerman and Lou Klein to mention a few.

While I have chosen to share my story with you I am in no way suggesting that anybody should refuse conventional medicine. I discovered my options but I believe that it’s important for people to know they have options that work, and that work well.
